CUMMING, Ga. - The Accredited Medical Equipment Providers of America (AMEPA) is re-launching an online petition to replace competitive bidding with the market-pricing program (MPP), according to Rob Brant, CEO. The White House petition, which will be activated March 18, will be live for 30 days, expiring April 18. The petition needs 100,000 signatures to gain a response from the president. Provider interviewed for CBS Miami competitive bidding story

MIAMI - A CBS affiliate in Miami will air a story about competitive bidding that will feature Rob Brant, a bid winner whose HME business is now closed. The story, which will air Friday, Dec. 28, will also feature an oxygen patient who could not get service from another oxygen provider after Brant's business closed. The story also reviews the market-pricing program and features interviews with other area providers and legislators.
Medtrade Spring in bite-sized pieces

First off, what you're probably waiting to hear about most: The footprint of the show is smaller, yes, but the traffic has been good. Exhibitors acknowledge that there are fewer attendees, but they say they're "quality" attendees. One exhibitor even said "buying is back." Show officials are supposed to e-mail me tomorrow with details on the number of exhibitors and attendees. Stay tuned.
