Sleep lab, not VirtuOx, buys NovaSom's assets

ATLANTA - SleepMed, one of the largest operators of sleep labs in the United States, has acquired the assets of NovaSom, a leading provider of home sleep testing.
It was previously reported that VirtuOx would buy the Glen Burnie, Md.-based company's assets.
SleepMed, a BioSerenity company, is “excited to invest in NovaSom,” said Roger Anderson, senior vice president of finance and operations.

Watermark Medical draws millions from investors

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Watermark Medical, a sleep apnea diagnostics company which recently merged with Columbia, S.C.-based SleepMed, has received $32.2 million from at least 20 investors since the merger, according to an SEC filing cited in an article from medcitynews.com. Founded in Boca Raton, Fla., in 2008, the company manufacturers an at-home headset called ARES, which uses sensors to compile data designed to measure a patient's risk for sleep apnea, the article noted.
SleepMed merges with Watermark Medical

COLUMBIA, S.C. - SleepMed, a sleep testing and therapy company, has completed a merger with Watermark Medical, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based sleep testing and therapy company, according to a message from Watermark executives. The company will operate as SleepMed, but the Watermark Medical name will be maintained for use with physician customers, the message noted.
