CMS on exchanges: Lower premiums, more choice

WASHINGTON - Premiums for HealthCare.gov plans are lower for the third consecutive year, according to a new report from CMS. The average premium for the second lowest silver plan, or benchmark plan, on the federal health care insurance exchanges dropped by 2% for the 2021 coverage year, the report shows. “Our changes to the regulations and how we have managed the exchanges have proven to be more effective than previous administrations,” said CMS Administrator Seema Verma.
