DOJ announces record number of settlements

WASHINGTON – Settlements and judgments under the False Claims Act exceeded $2.68 billion in the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2023, the U.S. Department of Justice has announced.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Hill-Rom Holdings, Hill-Rom Company, Hill-Rom Services and Advanced Respiratory have agreed to pay $2.1 million to resolve allegations that the companies violated the False Claims Act by submitting false claims for payment to the Medicare, TRICARE, Department of Veterans Affairs and Medicaid programs.

CHARLOTTE – BSN Medical has agreed to resolve allegations that it marketed and promoted various products that did not meet the Medicare or Medicaid program’s reasonable and necessary requirements, causing the submission of false claims for patients, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina.
