Ventus Medical product launches new treatment device for OSA

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Ventus Medical has launched a therapy kit designed to help people gradually adjust to expiratory positive airway pressure (EPAP) treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. The Provent Starter Kit is placed just inside the nostrils and held in place by a hypoallergenic adhesive. The expiratory resistance created by the device helps maintain an open airway during sleep and prevents a collapse of the airway. The device has a three-phase approach, aiding adjustment until the full therapeutic effect is reached five nights after beginning the treatment. The kit will be available in the United States through Ventus Medical's current network of distributors.
