From the it-should-have-been-reported-earlier-in-HME News files:
During Tuesday's CERT education call, officials talked about "supplemental measures" being taken on by the CERT contractor per Executive Order 13520, which was issued by President Obama way back in November. The goal of the order is "further intensifying efforts to eliminate payment error, waste, fraud and abuse in federal programs."
One of those supplemental measures: eight HCPCS codes for power wheelchairs. According to a timetable provided during the call, the CERT contractor began requesting records in May for claims from November 2009 through January 2010. It plans to review 200 to 250 claims and issue an initial report in September 2010.
Also on the list: nine HCPCS codes for pressure-reducing support surfaces. The CERT contractor plans to begin requesting records in July for claims from April 2010 through June 2010. It plans to review 270 to 300 claims and issue an initial report in March 2011.
Hope everyone has their supporting documentation in order!
