ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Home Infusion Foundation (NHIF) has named Janice Elliott, BS, RN, CRNI, VA-BC, as the recipient of the 2023 Lynn Giglione Women in Leadership Award.
The award recognizes and honors trail-blazing and emerging women leaders who have demonstrated exemplary service to patients and their peers while promoting the mission of NHIF.
Elliott, who has 28 years of nursing experience in a home care setting, currently serves as the director of vascular access at Utica-N.Y.-based Upstate Home Care.
“Janice’s peers say she is a trailblazer who makes them better providers through her compassion, dedication, knowledge and positivity,” said NHIF Board Chair David Franklin, MSA. “This is the same spirit that Lynn modeled, and that this award was designed to celebrate.”
The award was established in 2015 to commemorate the late Lynn Giglione, a trailblazer in the home and alternate site infusion industry and a founding board member of NHIF.
Elliott has administered infusion therapy, developed vascular access teams, and provided education for clinicians in the home, long-term care, hospice and acute care settings. She has also worked for various U.S. medical device companies as a clinical specialist, preceptor and educator. She started a mobile vascular access team 17 years ago using portable ultrasound technology in the home that she continues to lead today.
Elliot will receive the award at National Home Infusion Association’s 2023 Annual Conference on March 28.
