TITUSVILLE, Fla.--After listening to negative news about competitive bidding and other issues battering the HME industry, Ryan Ruskin decided he'd had enough. The result: HME TV.
“I said, what if we could create a new venue that allowed our industry a little relief and at the same time allowed dealers to share information, allowed them to express themselves in a medium that is a bit more effective,” said Ruskin, CEO of HME Providers, a member-service organization that includes about 500 providers.
HME TV, www.hmeproviderstv.com, debuted this spring with an interview with industry consultant Wallace Weeks. In upcoming segments, the online TV program will feature interviews with industry newsmakers and providers on various business, regulatory and reimbursement topics, Ruskin said.
“I always think of HME Providers as a tool belt for a DME provider to wear,” Ruskin said. “A smart provider wears that tool belt and keeps fixing and grinding and moving forward.”
