DALLAS – Moving Medtrade to a central location that not only makes travel easier but also offers recreational opportunities could help boost attendance, exhibitors say.
“Dallas is a great central location with a lot of ‘draw’ for attendees in terms of social and entertaining opportunities, as well as a hub for major airlines to make it easy to get to,” said Katherine Royster, executive vice president of marketing for Sarasota, Fla.-based React Health. “I think many attendees will look to make a weekend out of it like they did with Las Vegas. We are looking forward to a big turnout.”
One and done
The other advantage exhibitors see is the one-show-per-year concept, unifying audiences that attended either the Atlanta show or Las Vegas show.
“We expect having a single show during a calendar year will significantly increase provider and vendor participation,” said Jeffrey Distasio, vice president of sales for Duryea, Pa.-based Pride Mobility.
Single and ready to mingle
A perceived waning pandemic also opens up more people in the industry to in-person events and meetings, bringing a sense of normalcy to Medtrade this year, Royster said.
“I truly feel that the DME industry still highly values in-person meetings,” she said. “With engaging educational programs, a well-attended exhibit hall and the opportunity to network, I think the industry will see Dallas, and the larger annual format as a win.”
Provider feedback
A mainstay at Medtrade for decades, Pride Mobility will be focused on meeting with providers – existing and potential customers – in its booth.
“Pride has always supported Medtrade events and utilized our time to meet with as many providers as possible to conduct business reviews, demonstrate our new products, gather provider feedback on what they and their customers would like to see, and to set in motion future product and program offerings,” Distasio said. “We utilize this time to get feedback on these new products and then make changes where possible before we officially launch them. Provider feedback is invaluable in this process, and having more providers in one location to offer their insights is one of the keys to the success of our quest to constantly innovate our product categories.”
Show me
Royster expects React’s 20 x 20 booth to be a big draw. There, providers will find live demonstrations of its software, as well as its latest CPAP devices, ventilators and oxygen concentrators.
“We plan to have distinct areas for each of our product lines and are excited to showcase all our products,” she said.
