OCEANSIDE, Calif. - Honest Medical is making strides in social responsibility by partnering with Happen Ventures to donate returned and re-usable medical supplies to nonprofits.
The latest donation, which included first aid essentials, ostomy supplies and over-the-counter medications, was made to Hope Esperanza, a nonprofit in North Platte, Neb.
"We do get products returned and typically they’re in re-sellable condition, but sometimes these products are opened and the last thing we want to do is throw them in a landfill,” said Mike Greenan, CEO of Honest Medical.
Each year, Honest Medical, whose e-commerce platform offers a wide range of products, including mobility aids, nutritional supplements, and incontinence, diabetic and wound care supplies, receives 100,000 and 200,000 returns at its headquarters and warehouse here.
Processing and donating the returns is a point of pride for Honest Medical, which uses custom-built technology solutions to streamline operations and deliver competitive pricing.
“Our ERP software is custom built by us and that allows us to understand price points from distributors and manufacturers to ensure we are acquiring our products at the most competitive prices possible, which we then hand down to our end users,” said Greenan.
Honest Medical’s efficiency is among the reasons the company, which was just founded in 2017, earned a spot at No. 1167 on the 2023 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing companies in the United States, with a 506% increase in revenue over the past three years.
“We're excited to continue to expand our catalog and our points of distribution to ensure the overall goal of having the best possible price on all medical products,” said Greenan.
