Mediware makes homecare play

LENEXA, Kan. - Mediware Information Systems has nearly doubled its customer base in the HME, home infusion and home health markets by acquiring Plainview, N.Y.-based Fastrack Healthcare Systems.
Mediware now has 700 customers, with the addition of Fastrack's 300.

LENEXA, Kan. - Mediware Information Systems is buying Fastrack Healthcare Systems, providing a boost to its existing Alternate Care Solutions product portfolio, according to a letter to customers. The acquisition of Fastrack is in line with Mediware's broader strategy of expanding its HME presence, both in management platforms and through HME product lines. In 2011, the company acquired CareCentric's home medical equipment, home health and home infusion software businesses.
