ResMed stays put

SAN DIEGO - ResMed will keep its headquarters in southern California, after its board decided the benefits of staying were greater than that of relocating, according to an article from the San Diego Union-Tribune. In Dec. 2012, it was reported that ResMed was mulling a move, citing tax increases, stronger unions, stricter regulations and a Democratic majority in the state legislature as reasons. California's business climate, particularly the high taxes and regulations, remains a worry, according to David Pendarvis, ResMed's global general counsel and chief administrative officer. He told the newspaper that the company might still decide to move some functions out of state under the right circumstances.
