BOCA RATON, Fla. – Craig Kreakie, Mobility’s City’s new vice president of franchise operations, was looking to buy a franchise, not secure an executive position, but the company’s leadership and support drew him in.
Now he’s keyed in to improving the efficiency of franchises on a broad scale, so they can do what they do best – help people.
HME News: What do you bring to the table at Mobility City?
Craig Kreakie: I started my career as a CPA after getting my Master's in accounting. I spent four years with Ernst & Young before being recruited to Cardinal Health. For five years, I worked in corporate functions—business development, acquisitions, finance, HR. Then I moved into the medical segment and got my first real experience in distribution. One of the business units I worked for helped hospitals save money on transportation costs. That was my first foray into operations. I spent 10 years growing that business from $50 million to $500 million when I left Cardinal.
HME: Why Mobility City?
Kreakie: I get asked that a lot. I’ve been fortunate to work for great companies. At Cardinal, there was a patient at the end of the chain, but I never saw them. At SpinLife, everything was remote, and I never really felt my impact. I was looking to buy a franchise. As I talked to the owners, they kept saying how great Diane and Vinnie were—how they truly cared about franchisees. They could have taken the franchise money and moved on, but they reinvest every dollar. Ultimately, I said I want to work for them.
HME: How did your role come to be?
Kreakie: When I joined, Vinnie and Diane didn’t have a long-term vision for me. In my first year, we ultimately felt the need to restructure how we were organized. They committed to investments that helped franchisees grow so they could better serve customers. Things were going well, but there was room for improvement. Ultimately, the position was created organically through that need.
