New online store allows Enos to 'get feet wet'

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - Enos Home Oxygen and Medical Supply is adding a new online store to its website, a move the provider hopes will pay off in the future.
"The baby boomers, a lot of them are doing a lot of online shopping," said Jon Enos, vice president. "I figure it's going to be a developing market over the next 10 to 20 years so might as well get in there now."
Enos is taking advantage of an offer from Medline to host what Enos calls an "Amazon-like" store on the provider's website, offering Medline's catalog of products with the option of adding other manufacturers as well.
Shoppers can pay using Paypal or credit cards that go through automated ordering. Products will ship directly from the vendors.
"They have a really good program," said Enos. "It's visually appealing and easier to use so I bought into the idea."
Enos is promoting his site's new feature though social media and word-of-mouth, but doesn't expect it to take off right away.
"I really don't expect huge returns on it at this point," he said. "I think it's just going to be more just us getting our feet wet, working out the kinks."
