Invacare POC goes DTC for cash

ELYRIA, Ohio - Invacare has launched a new campaign to increase access to its Platinum Mobile Oxygen Concentrator.
The campaign comprises multimedia advertising to build awareness for the POC and “a second point of access through cash sales to consumers, in addition to traditional reimbursed channels,” according to a press release.
“Invacare is committed to providing products that promote recovery and active lifestyles to those that need them,” said Matt Rechin, senior director of marketing communications and consumer marketing, at Invacare. “Given that, it made sense to build awareness and provide an additional point of access to consumers who want to can enjoy these benefits.”
At www.TryPlatinumMobile.com, visitors are walked through three steps for ordering the POC: 1) Users call a toll-free number and speak with a respiratory care coordinator; 2) Invacare works with their doctor to get a prescription and the proper paperwork, and then collects payments and ships device; and 3) Invacare helps the user set up the unit and download the free Piccolo O2 App for their mobile phone.
Invacare says it will continue to support its provider base, “as they play a significant role in their focus on clinically complex products,” and points out the website also has a “Dealer Locator.”
“In addition to the benefits of increased demand providers can expect to see due to targeted advertising, consumers who wish to obtain through their insurance benefit can search for a provider in their area,” the company stated.
