DALLAS - Hoveround, a Sarasota, Fla.-based manufacturer and provider of mobility equipment, held its 12th national continuing education meeting here Feb. 2-5.
More than 200 professionals attended the meeting, including 134 rehab technology suppliers (RTSs); 32 field and corporate managers and trainers; and 20 speakers, vendors and other guests. Also at the meeting: Forty five of Hoveround's assistive technology suppliers (ATSs) and assistive technology practitioners (ATPs), and about 60 of the provider's licensed or certified clinicians and practitioners (i.e. RNs, PTs, OTs).
Speakers at the meeting focused on seating and positioning principles, and training on assistive technology equipment for various disability groups. Manufacturer's reps also participated in the educational program and a Vendor Fair.
As part of staff development goals, 20 Hoveround field personnel took the ATS/ATP exam, and one employee took the rehab engineering technologist (RET) exam.
Hoveround's scope of service includes 97% of the continental United States zip code population within 46 states.
