TORRANCE, Calif. - Convaid, a manufacturer of customized mobility devices, has teamed up with a Girl Scout Troop to donate wheelchairs to children who lost equipment during Hurricane Sandy, according to a press release. Convaid was one of several companies contacted by Girl Scout Haley Rodenfeld, a member of Troop 5227 in Staten Island, who sought to help those affected by the storm. Convaid is set to deliver the wheelchairs on Dec. 22, 2012, to Home Medical Equipment in Garden City, N.Y. “We knew right away when we were contacted by Troop 5227 and the team from Home Medical Equipment that we were going to do what we can to help,” stated Chris Braun, president of Convaid.
