CENTER LINE, Mich. - Binson's Home Health Care Centers is ramping up its retail presence in Michigan with the acquisition of two H-Care stores in Flint and Saginaw.
Binson's is retaining the staff and both stores will operate under the Binson's name. H-Care offers a full range of DME products—from bandages to x—and serves Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer, Saginaw, Bay and Midland counties.
“We did do some remodeling,” said Jimmy Binson, director of operations, “I would say to 'Binson-ize' it as far as retail goes.”
Updates included clean, well-organized layouts and the addition of product planograms from manufacturers like Drive and Sigvaris.
“It's like Rite Aid or Meyers,” said Binson. “Related products are next to each other.”
The family-owned business got its start as a local pharmacy in 1953. Since 2011, Binson's has expanded—growing from six retail stores to 12 in Michigan and adding a location Florida—and was awarded multiple competitive bid contracts in Michigan and Florida, including a national mail-order contract for diabetes supplies.
“As my father always said, 'If you're not growing, you're dying,'” said Binson. “Are we looking to buy anybody right now? No. Are we looking to add office space and employees? Yes.”
