CONSHOCKEN, Pa. - Talk about community service.
In September, Air Products Healthcare donated $50,000 to $70,000 in home medical equipment for the American Lung Association's ninth “Oxygen Cruise” between New York and the Bahamas.
The cruise included about 30 COPD patients and their caregivers.
“We didn't do it to get an endorsement from the American Lung Association,” said Dave Johnson, Air Product Healthcare's COO. “It's supporting patients who otherwise wouldn't have been able to go on this cruise.”
The donated equipment, all of it brand new, included 12 reservoirs containing 1,200 liters of liquid oxygen, 40 oxygen concentrators, two Venture Homefill transfilling concentrators, 100 M6 cylinders, 30 nebulizers, 33 manual wheelchairs and all the necessary supplies and tubing.
