ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Back in 2020, Aeroflow Healthcare developed a five-year-plan that included hitting 1 million patients served in a 12-month span, and in November, the provider hit that milestone and celebrated with a casino-themed “One in a Million” party.
“There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world today and this shows our employees that the company they work for is growing and healthy,” said Marshall Staton, director of human resources. “We’re reinvesting back in the business and in each other, and we’re up for the long haul.”
Aeroflow launched in 2001 as a traditional HME provider offering home oxygen and other durable medical equipment. Over the last 10 years or so, however, it has refocused on breast pumps, as well as the resupply market, including urological, sleep apnea and its newest division, diabetes.
One key to Aeroflow’s growth has been building longer-term relationships with patients, Staton said.
“So, it's not so transactional,” he said. “It's more supportive care and not just providing a product but the service and support that is needed to be able to maximize the use of those products to make their lives better.”
Marshall says Aeroflow teaches the importance of service and support to its 800 employees across 35 states from “day one.”
“It takes continued commitment to the things that differentiate us to keep growing and keep being healthy,” he said. “We focus really heavily on our metrics and we track pretty much anything and everything that we can to make sure that we're holding ourselves accountable to still doing a really good job.”
As for when the company will hit 2 million patients?
“We’re really focusing on finishing this year strong and doing some planning for next year,” said Staton. “I feel pretty confident that it won't take 22 more years for us to get to that 2 million patient number. We are going to keep focusing on growing and taking care of people as best as we can.”
