NEW BERLIN, Wis. - Who says walkers and rollators can't be fly? Not Home Care Medical, which recently launched a campaign to personalize the often-utilitarian items.
The provider's “Bling Your Ride” promotion, features walker bags, cane holders, cup holders, and seat and back covers that offer stylish options for customers.
“They can design their walkers or rollators the way they want,” said Heather Lotz-Klug, manager of retail sales. “These items are practical yet edgy and fashionable.”
The new line is part of a recent push to expand Home Care Medical's retail offerings. The provider has promoted it through flyers, emails, tradeshows and print, online and radio advertising.
So far, both men and women have responded positively to the products, sold at the provider's two retail locations, Lotz-Klug said.
Although female customers prefer the flashier colors and patterns in the “Bling Your Ride” line, men buy the “bling” items too—in more sedate reds, grays and black. The bags themselves are designed to be sturdier, larger and wider than traditional bags, and feature more pockets, said Lotz-Klug.
“People need to carry things like newspapers and mail, and bring things to and from a store,” she said. “Some people will put them on a seat, but what happens when they need to sit down? This keeps people mobile.”
