NEENAH, Wis. - The array of available incontinence products often bewilders first-time buyers, says provider Tom Wilson
“Imagine going to Walmart and there all these different colored packages, all these different names and descriptions for these things you are not familiar with and you are sort of guessing,” said Wilson, president of The Caregiver Partnership, a mail-order provider. “So we created a tool to greatly improve the odds of drilling down and finding the right products for you.”
The first-time buyer of incontinence products buys eight to 10 different products, on average, before they find the right one, according to a study by manufacturer Kimberly-Clark. That's about $130 down the drain before they find the right one, says Wilson.
To that end, he created the Incontinence Product Finder, which borrows from the iTunes model to allow users to sort through product. For example, a user can select female, medium-sized, particular absorbency needs and so on to come up with a list of appropriate options.
“This greatly improves the odds of drilling down and finding the right products,” said Wilson. “It's the No. 1 most visited area on our website.”
