Melio was one of 45 companies exhibiting at Medtrade Spring for the first time this year.
These companies, which also have never exhibited at Medtrade, inspired attendees to take their businesses in new directions, says Group Show Director Kevin Gaffney.
“It's true that there are a lot of familiar and established companies in the HME industry, and they are the bedrock of the profession, and incredibly important to Medtrade Spring and Medtrade,” he said. “That said, we love to get new faces, new products and new ideas on to the show floor.”
In addition to Melio, “new faces” at Medtrade Spring included Whill (“Whill's wheels” on page 28 of the March issue), Crytico (“Yelp for mobility” on page 1 of the April issue), Payor Logic and RockTape.
Additionally, 15 companies that had exhibited at Medtrade but not Medtrade Spring exhibited for the first time; and 19 companies, including Invacare and Sunrise Medical, exhibited after an absence of a year or more.
The newcomers and returnees speak to the continued confidence in the HME industry, Gaffney says.
“Manufacturers and/or product developers are looking at the demographics of HME with a calculated business approach,” he said. “They see massive demand and tremendous opportunity.”
