MURRYSVILLE, Pa. - Philips Respironics has launched a new mobile self-management system for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients, according to a press release. The SleepMapper, a web-based solution, allows patients to access personalized feedback, education and interactive tools. “Non-adherence to therapy due to poor patient education and not understanding the disease management process have been inherent obstacles to CPAP success,” stated Mark Aloia, PhD, senior director, global clinical research, at Philips Healthcare. In addition, the product incorporates motivation enhancement therapy techniques to help patients stay compliant.
