CHICAGO – Three Lakes Foundation and MATTER have named OxyGEN as the first-place winner in their Innovation Challenge to accelerate new solutions in diagnosing, treating and managing pulmonary fibrosis.
OxyGEN, a med-tech venture out of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, has produced a POC that tracks, monitors and automatically adjusts the oxygen level for each patient, improving mobility and quality of life. OxyGEN, along with three other winners, will receive a monetary award, helping them to take the next steps to bring their solutions market.
The other winners: Sydney Montesi, MD, for a solution that uses positron emission tomography to detect changes in the lungs before significant damage occurs; RecoverX for a diagnostic tool that applies artificial intelligence and evidence-based data to accurately accelerate improving time to diagnosis; and Adair Health for a portable “tricorder-style” handheld device to measure more than 10 vitals in just 30 seconds.
Three Lakes and MATTER selected 12 finalists from 49 submissions and then finalists participated in a “Shark Tank”-style pitch presentation via Zoom.
Three Lakes is a nonprofit focused on uniting researchers, industries and philanthropy in pulmonary fibrosis. MATTER is an incubator hub of more than 200 cutting-edge startups from around the world.
