MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – Paul Miller sees much of his new role at O2 Concepts as bringing organization and support to a company with both a strong sales team and product portfolio.
Miller, who previously worked at Medline for nearly 20 years, was announced as the new executive vice president of sales for O2 Concepts in December.
“It’s a strong sales team with a lot of respiratory expertise,” he said. “They’re former F&P, Respironics and ResMed salespeople that the company has been able to recruit over the years. I’m just here to elevate what they’re doing to the next level and help where I can in making them a more successful organization. If there’s one word for all of it, it’s growth. We want to grow in 2025.”
O2 Concepts makes the Oxlife Independence, Liberty and Liberty 2, and Freedom portable oxygen concentrators. It also offers DNA Technology, a proprietary, device-initiated connectivity solution that it says provides data for improved operating efficiency, asset management, inventory control and patient outcomes.
Miller says the company’s product portfolio gives him and the sales team plenty to work with, especially in an environment where HME providers want to minimize costs but maximize care and service.
“I’m always talking with the team, how do you turn an oxygen fleet into something that’s, instead of reactive, proactive?” he said. “Our DNA Technology has the ability to trigger alarms, which means providers can get to the machines before there’s a failure and a patient’s time without their device is minimized. That’s really exciting.”
Miller also expects to elevate O2 Concepts’ visibility in the industry, whether it’s at Medtrade, a state association meeting or another event, and its relationships with stakeholders like VGM Group. That’s something he did successfully at Medline, when the company relaunched its HME division, an effort he led.
“That’s just in my blood,” he said. “I truly believe if you’re going to be successful in business, you have to be a good steward of the industry you’re trying to do business in. I’m thankful to the leadership team at O2 for trusting in me to go this route.”
