SAN ANTONIO—National Seating & Mobility's services look a lot different today than they did several years ago, says Stephanie Buckley, vice president of marketing, which is why the company branded them NSM360 at its annual symposium in February.
NSM360 is a complete mobility solution for clients, giving them access to customized chairs, an enhanced service and repair department, and an expanded accessibility division.
“We've worked really hard over the last several years to find new ways to help service our customers so they can have one stop to get a complete mobility solution and not have to go to a bunch of other resources for things like ramps, patient lifts and vehicle lifts,” said Buckley. “We know our customers have been asking for that and this is an intentional way for us to bring that forth and market that.”
More than 700 people attended the company's 26th symposium, including 440 ATPs and 75 management personnel, making it the perfect opportunity to share NSM's vision for 2020 with its employees.
“It's not enough to get our clients a wheelchair,” said CEO Bill Mixon. “Our ATPs are thinking holistically about the human being, their home, and their vehicle requirements, with the objective of providing a service that orients the solutions around a full suite of requirements that people have in order to truly achieve freedom and mobility in their lives.”
The event also provided an opportunity for reflection. Last year, NSM exceeded its business objectives, adding 20 locations—11 in Canada and 10 in the U.S.—and growing its ATP headcount. This year's ongoing goal: industry leading cycle times, quality patient care and satisfaction, and to be the employer of choice in complex rehab.
“We want to continue to work on this and try to improve every year and we use the symposium to set the stage for that,” said Mixon.
