NHIA annual conference: Deep dives, immersive experience and insider view

Jennifer CharronWASHINGTON – Organizers of this year’s National Home Infusion Association Conference have created an event with a diverse array of educational sessions packaged for busy health care providers, says COO Jennifer Charron.

Over the past two years, the association has focused on submitted topic ideas, reflecting the interests of members and attendees. This year, across five tracks there are dozens of sessions on everything from AI to new drug launches to hybrid work environments.

“There's just so much going on in health care, so this is just trying to pull all those together where people can really have everything in one place,” said Charron. “We also wanted all of our sessions to have some sort of interactivity, so we we're using a platform that allows them to do live polling surveys – we’re really just trying to keep those learners activated.”

This year’s event takes place March 29-April 2 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Deep dive

New this year: 30-30-30 sessions, condensed 30-minute sessions that make it easier for attendees to engage in more topics, says Charron.

“In today's world of phones and focus, I think we can really hold people's attention on a topic of interest when you're really diving deep into one specific area,” she said.

Expo experience

The conference expo, which will feature 130-plus exhibitors, offers something new this year: The Ambulatory Infusion Suite Experience, an area that attendees will be able to walk through to get ideas and make comparisons for remaining compliant in their own business, says Charron.

“It’s really focused on meeting the criteria for different standards associated with infusion suites,” she said. “People will be able to go through and be able to look at it and see if they can find where some of the downfalls are or where things could be improved.”

Insider view

Appropriate for an event in the nation’s capital, government affairs will also be a focus, with panels on tariffs and other federal topics impacting the industry, says Charron. The event’s industry keynote will be a fireside chat between former CMS Administrator and FDA Commissioner Mark McClellan and NHIA CEO Connie Sullivan.

“We’re particularly interested in hearing Mark’s take on some of the things that are happening,” said Charron. “When you bring somebody in who has inside information and who has kind of worked within the system, they always have some great insight into what's happening in the current administration.”
