Move over eBay and Craigslist, now there's Marketplace

OKLAHOMA CITY - Wheelchair users looking for a good deal on back-up equipment and DME providers looking to sell excess inventory can now connect using a new feature on the CRT Catalog app.
The CRT Catalog Marketplace, added to the existing app in November, allows manufacturers, providers, ATPs and consumers to buy/sell used or refurbished complex rehab equipment online.
“Funding is getting cut all over the place,” said Eric Hall, president of Grow Your DME, a medMark Consultants company, which provides marketing services for DME companies. “People have limited access to the products they need through traditional insurance means.”
medMark Consultants launched the original app.
The Marketplace also offers manufacturers and providers a platform to offload demo and returned equipment that would otherwise gather dust in a stock room or warehouse.
In the event that the consumer can't find a certain product in their price range, they can also make requests.
Unlike other classified ad websites, such as Ebay or Craigslist, Hall says the Marketplace vetting process for mobility equipment is much more stringent, which is a good thing.
“Consumers can have confidence that the equipment is going to be in good shape or lightly used, rather than a chair that was picked up at a garage sale by someone who doesn't know a lot about it,” he said.
