ELYRIA, Ohio - Invacare Founder Mal Mixon will retire from the company's board of directors effective June 30. “After much consideration, I have made the decision to retire from the Invacare board of directors to deal with recent health challenges,” Mixon stated in a press release. “I am very pleased with the transition of leadership to Matt Monaghan. I am confident in the future of the organization.” Monaghan became Invacare's chairman, president and CEO earlier this year. He commended Mixon on his many years of leadership and commitment to Invacare. “He has built a great company based on innovation, compelling acquisitions and a strong commitment to the customer,” Monaghan stated. “I look forward to building upon his legacy.”
