WASHINGTON - The National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics (NAAOP) is calling on members to support the Injured and Amputee Veterans Bill of Rights recently reintroduced in Congress. The bill would require the Veterans Affairs to post online and in clinics the rights of veterans to quality orthotic and prosthetic care, including the right to appropriate technology, a second opinion, a spare prosthesis or orthosis, and their choice of practitioner. “We're hopeful that the VA Committee moves on this bill and we're very hopeful that the Senate follows suit,” stated Peter Thomas, general counsel of NAAOP, in a press release. “At this point what we're asking our members and friends to do is to write to their congressmen and ask for cosponsors of H.R 3408.”
