COLUMBUS, Ohio – JTEK Solutions Group has a new name, JTEK Home Access Design, and a second location here, its first franchise, marking a significant step in the company’s evolution.
“JTEK Solutions Group served us pretty well in the beginning, but we wanted a name that was a little more narrow in scope and said what it is we do,” said Jared Chevraux, executive vice president.
Founded in 2011 in a home office and two-car garage, JTEK offers home access installations like ceiling tracks, stairlifts, grab bars, ramps and custom bathroom remodeling. In 2020, it opened its first home access design studio.
The franchise location, which will also feature a showroom, will be led by Joel Cooper and Chris Hartsel, who have experience in high-end remodeling and finance.
“Joel and Chris will help us develop the franchise as we go,” said Chevraux. “We're going to work together. I'll be getting constant feedback from them on how we can perfect the system before we open that third location.”
Additionally, JTEK is expanding into the smart home and technology sector to offer products like phone-controlled doors, faucets and showers.
“A lot of children living with disabilities or mobility issues are using their phone for everything as it is,” said Chevraux. “Since we’re already remodeling the home, we just felt like it was a good fit.”
Going forward, JTEK is committed to mindful growth – a selective process driven by the right opportunities and partnerships. For Chevraux, it’s about preserving the company’s authenticity and ensuring that each new location reflects the family business.
“I just want to open in the right markets with the right people,” said Chevraux. “I don’t have a goal to open X amount of locations in so many years. When it’s right is when we’ll do it.”
