iNRRTS’s DIRECTIONS shifts format

Andrea MadsenLUBBOCK, Texas – iNRRTS’s DIRECTIONS Magazine is undergoing a major transformation, shifting from a print-and-digital hybrid to a digital-first publication, putting it more in sync with reader preferences.

DIRECTIONS, which is published six times a year for readers in all 50 states, Canada, Australia and Puerto Rico, will still be available in print for those who prefer to read it that way, but iNRRTS expects digital engagement to only continue growing.

"Our readership had been reflecting a move to a digital platform, with the vast majority of our subscriptions already requesting digital," said Andrea Madsen, executive director of iNRRTS. "This change was really in step with what people were demanding."

For nearly three decades, DIRECTIONS has served as a resource for professionals in the complex rehab technology industry. What started as a newsletter in 1995 has grown into a publication focused on clinical content, CEU articles, industry trends and case studies.

The transition to digital-first also allows iNRRTS to offer richer content, including embedded videos, interactive links and advanced search functions. Unlike print, the digital format enables users to quickly search for specific topics or keywords, enhancing accessibility and engagement.

“If I want to find something on abduction, I can do that,” said Bill Noelting, director of marketing at iNRRTS. “If I want to find something on K0108, I can find it. I can search by topic or keyword, which you can't do in a magazine. You can browse through it, you can flip through it, you can look for K0108, but it takes a long time.”

As part of the shift, iNRRTS will also return to focusing each issue on a specific clinical theme—ranging from standing wheelchairs to telehealth to travel and recreation. Additionally, the organization will also introduce Tech Corner, a new feature focused on service topics, alongside its existing clinical and human-interest coverage.

DIRECTIONS is available for immediate download from iNRRTS’s website at no charge.
