If CMS doesn't even know who its contract suppliers are...

What are the chances that competitive bidding will run smoothly when it's up and running Jan. 1? Not very good, based on what a provider told me this morning:
When the generic letter about competitive bidding went out to patients and our patients called CMS, CMS was kind enough to tell them we were not a contract supplier, even though we were awarded contracts in seven categories in the Cleveland, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh CBAs. So we called them and talked to 15 different individuals and all 15 of them got it wrong. We've been reporting that to our state association and AAHomecare. I'm also going to be setting up a meeting with Congressman Ryan in the very near future to tell him that, even though we were awarded contracts, that doesn't mean this is a good program."
If CMS doesn't even know who its contract suppliers are, we're in a world of hurt.
