WASHINGTON - Today is the deadline to sign on to a letter being circulated by the National Home Infusion Association to push forward legislation in the Senate that would, among other things, create a temporary transitional payment for home infusion services related to Medicare Part B. The deadline is 5 p.m. EST. To add your name to the letter, email sophie.kendall@nhia.org. Introduced Aug. 3 by Sens. Mark Warner, D-Va., and Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., the Medicare Home Infusion Therapy Access Act of 2017 (S. 1738) would create a temporary payment for home infusion services to address a payment gap created by a provision in the 21st Century Cures Act. The act requires Medicare to pay for services associated with providing Part B home infusion drugs, but not until 2021.
