ATLANTA -Brightree and athenahealth hope to improve access and reduce ordering time by connecting providers and physicians as part of a strategic agreement announced Jan. 6. Per the agreement, HME, home health and hospice providers using Brightree will have improved access to the 15,000 physicians using athenaClinicals and athenaCoordinator. In turn, physicians using those tools will be able to reduce post-acute care order processing time with direct and instant access to Brightree's network of 2,700 providers. “Brightree's vision and strategies to create a more coordinated care model that reduces costs and improves patient care aligns perfectly with that of athenahealth,” said Dave Cormack, president and CEO of Brightree, in a release. “With the two largest SaaS-based solution providers joining forces, physicians, post-acute care providers and patients will all benefit from streamlined processes that enable successful transitions across the care continuum.”
