It took only a month for VGM Insurance to receive 60 nominations for its “Quarter Century of Caring Campaign.”
As part of the campaign, VGM Insurance will select a handful of HME providers each month to receive $1,000 to donate to the local charities they've nominated.
“In the beginning, we thought, 'Will we get nominations?'” said Bill Wilson, vice president of sales and marketing for VGM Insurance.
VGM Insurance kicked off the campaign in late January to celebrate 25 years in business. It plans to award $1,000 to 25 providers through December for a total of $25,000.
One nomination that has caught Wilson's eye: A provider in New Jersey that has nominated a group that's raising money to build a baseball diamond for people with disabilities.
“They're all awesome, but that speaks to our client base for sure,” he said.
VGM Insurance is no stranger to fundraising. Each year, the company's Team Building
Committee chooses a local cause. Last year, it hosted a taco bar to raise money to help Northstar Community Services build a raised garden bed for people with disabilities.
“If we can assist providers in also having an impact on their local communities, we want to do that,” he said.
