LEBANON, Tenn. - Calling it a “natural fit,” Permobil has acquired TiLite, the two companies announced today.
“TiLite shares our culture of excellence and commitment to delivering an outstanding wheelchair experience to our users,” said Larry Jackson, president of Permobil North America, in a release. “This is a natural fit. I am really looking forward to developing Permobil's offering with TiLite onboard.”
While Permobil designs and manufactures complex power wheelchairs, the Pasco, Wash.-based TiLite designs and manufacturers complex manual wheelchairs in titanium or aluminum that are lightweight and can be customized to the needs of users.
In September, Permobil began selling TiLite wheelchairs in Canada.
“We look forward to being part of Permobil's journey to reshape the market for complex rehabilitation,” said David Lippes, CEO of TiLite.
Permobil and TiLite have combined sales of approximately SEK 2 billion, according to the release.
