Will merger renew interest in membership?

Will merger renew interest in membership?

The announcement of the merger between AAHomecare and NAIMES was something I have been waiting to see. Everyone I have spoken to feels as I do, that the new association will be able to become the effective voice we need in Washington, D.C.

This is the first step forward required to get the bill for the market-pricing program (MPP) through to Congress and then passed. But there is a great deal more that must be accomplished STAT.

There are about 15,000 DME/HME providers in the United States. I have a goal of getting membership in the “new” AAHomecare as high as 90% of all HME providers.

There is so much at stake for every DME/HME provider, and membership makes it easier to grow, to expand and, of course, to stay in business! I do not understand why there are so many recalcitrant providers. There are those who complain and whine, but do nothing to keep things moving forward.

My hope is two-fold: Every provider signs on as a new member of AAHomecare and his or her state or regional DME association (if you are not currently a member).

Ben Franklin makes your role very clear: “America can no more survive and grow without big business than it can survive and grow without small business.”

That is us! Please sign on STAT.
