O2 Science sells California branch operations

TEMPE, Ariz. - O2 Science, a regional provider of respiratory therapy services and home healthcare products, announced today that the company has concluded its business and operations throughout California.
The company sold its California operations, which includes branches in Long Beach and San Diego, to Apria Healthcare Group.
"The sale of our California locations was the right choice for the company because it will free up the resources necessary to ensure future growth,” said Mark S. Hanley, president and chief executive officer.
O2 Science has grown from five to nearly 20 locations in less than three years.
“The decision to cease operations in the California market was made in part due to the fact this it is primarily a managed care state, which had been impacting our margins there,” said Hanley.
