HME/RT council embarks on quest for data

August 4 , 2003 ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The need for data to support HME industry claims that its services are a cost-effective solution to larger health care concerns has not gone unrecognized by members of this year's HME/RT Council at AAHomecare. In June, a leadership group within the council took on the task of surveying available resources for data that HME companies can use to make persuasive points about home care with legislators. “We want a focused message that demonstrates how home care has and continues to save money,” said Les DeFelice, chairman of the HME/RT Council and president of DeFeliceCare in Wheeling, W.V. “We already know people would much rather be at home. This data is out there. We have to find it and then communicate it clearly to our legislators.” For more information, see the September issue of HME News.
