ATG carves out more complex rehab

ROCKY HILL, Conn. - It's been a busy summer for ATG Rehab, with acquisitions of the complex rehab businesses of Sayreville, N.J-based Allcare Medical Aug. 1 and Philadelphia-based Associated Medical Specialties July 17.

As part of the Allcare Medical acquisition, ATG Rehab will also establish a new location in central New Jersey to serve clients in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas.

Allcare Medical will refocus its efforts on traditional HME, clinical respiratory support services, and orthotics and prosthetics, the provider says.

“Allcare Medical is an established and respected CRT provider in the region,” said Frank Biondello, ATG Rehab division president. “We look forward to building upon Allcare's 30 years of dedication and expertise by expanding its customer base from Northern New Jersey to greater Philadelphia.”

Allcare and ATG will co-market their respective services, according to the press release.

Similarly, Associated Medical Specialties will focus on durable medical equipment and other non-rehab services, and the two providers will also co-market their services.

The recent acquisitions are part of a series of buys that began in January 2011 when Audax Private Equity became a majority investor. Among those, Rocky Mountain Medical Equipment, Vanguard and Westmed Rehab were also complex rehab segment-only buys.
